We continued to work on the earrings this week. Luke had an intricate marking system for the collet which was quite complicated, but the end result is significantly more precise and refined.
After lots of marking, filing, and correcting, I separated the brass wire from the collet, and soldered the base plate on. The plate was then trimmed, and 0.8mm posts were attached. A tiny notch was filed 1.5mm from the end of the post so the earring back can catch in the groove.
